FUTURE COMBAT SYSTEMS

Future Combat Systems (FCS) is the centerpiece of the Army's vision to transform into a fighting force that is more lethal, agile and rapidly deployable than any ground combat force in the world. As the Army's premier modernization program consisting of a family of manned and unmanned systems, connected by a common network uniting a wide range of weapons, sensors, and information systems, FCS provides our Soldiers and leaders with leading-edge technologies, situational awareness and superior capabilities allowing them to dominate in complex environments.

The FCS program, considered the core building block of the Army's future force, consists of the following elements:

  • The network (information and communications)
  • 14 individual combat systems including manned and unmanned systems
  • The soldier

As a key member of the FCS One Team, BAE Systems is providing critical FCS and Network-Centric Operations technologies, such as the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon (NLOS Cannon), Joint Tactical Radio System, and Adaptive Joint C4ISR Node, which give soldiers unmatched firepower, situational awareness and survivability.
